Don’t compromise on what God says to please the world

I overheard someone say, “The Bible doesn’t explicitly state anything about God not being okay with gay people, so we don’t know.”

But I don’t think this is true.

We see in Genesis 1 that God created man and woman and told them to be fruitful and multiply. God didn’t create a man who thought he was a woman nor did he create a woman who thought she was a man.

Additionally, it doesn’t make sense that two people of the same sex would be in relationship; Two women cannot reproduce nor can two men.

We see in creation that when God formed us, He created us as we are, not who we think we are. And because He formed us, He determines who and what we are.

We also see in Leviticus 18:22, where God is speaking about unlawful sexual relations, and tells the Israelites “do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman. That is detestable.”

Furthermore, in Romans 1:26-27, we see that Paul writes about unnatural sexual relations which involves two people of the same sex.

And that is where understanding that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers and rulers of darkness comes in (Ephesians 6:12).

When we understand that there is a spiritual war going, we understand that many are under attack by a spirit of perversion. I mean that is literally satan’s job; to pervert everything that God has called good and to confuse people.

We see it in the rainbow, which has now become associated with LGBTQ and pride. We see in Genesis 9:12-17 that the rainbow symbolizes God’s covenant with Noah and all creatures to never flood the earth again.

So, I say all that to say that yes, God loves everyone but that doesn’t mean He loves our sin nor does He love when we blatantly deny our sin.

It is written that he who denies he is without sin is a liar and the truth is not in him. (1 John 1:8)

I’d also like to point you to Matthew 5:11-12 in which Jesus tells us that blessed are those who are insulted and persecuted because of Him.

He also tells us in John 15:18-19 that the world will deny us but to stay encouraged because the world denied Him first.

And going back to Matthew 10:32-33, He tells us that if we are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of us in front of God.

And lastly, in the book of Galatians (1:10), Paul challenges us to look within to determine if we are trying to please man or God.

We are also told that the law is summed up in two commandments: To love God with everything in us and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves (Romans 13:8-10).

I say all of this to say that:

1. The Bible is God’s literal instruction on how to live. Just because He may not explicitly state something doesn’t mean it’s not in the text. It’s a matter of studying the Word and seeking to understand it.

Think: If you can’t honor God while doing it then you probably shouldn’t be doing it.

2. We all long to be accepted by people and we all want to do our best to not offend people. But, the truth is the truth and you are either going to choose God or the world.

3When we love God with everything in us, we will choose His ways over our own. And when we love our neighbor as ourself, we see everyone through eyes of compassion which allows us to lovingly guide them to the truth.

4. Just because someone identifies as LGBTQ doesn’t give any of us the right to condemn them or judge them; Only Jesus was given that kind of authority. Additionally, we must love them regardless because none of us are without sin; we all fall short of the glory of God.

5God gives us free will. If someone chooses to live a certain way, that is between them and God. All we can do is share the truth and let them choose for themselves. We see all throughout the book of Luke that in Jesus’ ministry, He always gave people a choice to either follow Him or go the other way.

6. Lastly, stand for something or fall for anything.
